I am a "fishing flies" type of guy, I have never really been into the realistic tying. Not that I don't appreciate it, I just prefer flies designed and tied to catch fish. Tom Weir AKA @trout_sniffer submitted this awesome tie for the October / November photo contest. I think he may have hit the perfect blend with a realistic fly as well as a fly you could drift on an indy rig. Congratulations Tom on your fly being picked as the favorite by our team of ambassadors.

September 2019Sometimes you just know...When I first saw this picture I absolutely know this was going to be the winner for September. This reminds me of one of the pictures on the back cover of the book "Pop Flies" where Bob Popovics did something similar with his Surf Candy Fly. This picture was sent in by Frank Guimond. Frank, I absolutely love this shot. Thank you for sending it in.

August 2019
Well, for the second month in a row Mike Hawkins picture of his Spey fly was selected as the favorite picture for the month of August. A fantastic tie for sure, I think what sets this picture apart from some of the others is the quality of the actual picture. You can see every fiber of the Peacock Hurl, impressive indeed. Thank you Mike and all of the participants that sent Pictures in for the month of August.
July 2019
The picture chosen as favorite by the Norvise ambassador team for July was this great shot of a Redfish sent to us by Mike Hawkins. Mike is the administrator for the Norvise Tiers Facebook Page. He has been a Norvise faithful for many years, a fantastic tier and a great fisherman. as great as this picture is, what really grabs my attention is the blue in the sky in the back round. It really brings out the browns and coppers of the fish. Congrats Mike, your prize is on its way.

May 2019
As mentioned on Facebook for the month of May we didn't have that many submissions. What we lacked in quantity we made up for in quality. a good example of this id this months favorite picture submitted by Norvise ambassador Dave Allison. The artistic nature of the picture is second only to the technical aspect of the fly which is spot on! Congrats Dave, Thank you for entering this pic.

November 2018The picture as chosen favorite by Team Norvise is this way cool intruder sent in to us by Aaron Kaminski. I have always loved the versatility of this tying style and the beauty of the finished flies. Aaron did a great job with both in this creation. Thank you for sending this in.

October 2018This Crayfish tied by Patrica Pezza was chosen as the favorite by Team Norvise for October. Crayfish patterns are tough due to the detail of the natural. Coming up with a pattern that hits the necessary details, but is not too time consuming to tie can be a challenge. I think Patty hit a home run with this one.

September 2018This realistic Dragon fly was sent to us by our friend Rolf Modes. Realistic fly tying is something that has always intrigued me. I have herd them called "works of art on a hook" what I like about this one, aside from fact the picture composition is fantastic, is that this is a realistic fly that can actually be fished. Great job Rolf, thank you for sharing this with us.

August 2018This Tenkara style fly was chosen as the favorite submission by Team Norvise for the month of August. We always like to see new and different types of flies tied on the Norvise. The Tenkara flies are foreign to me personally, they do have a certain allure to them. Thank you Aaron Kaminski for sending us this fantastic pic.
